Sound Baths are an immersive sound experience using crystal quartz singing bowls where the body feels surrounded and bathed in the strong, pulsating energy of sound vibrations. Quartz crystal has a very precise crystalline structure. Since its structure is so coherent, it can produce powerful vibrations that amplify healing energy for the recipient.

The bowls produce highly resonant pitches that have frequencies that correspond with the seven energy centers of the body. Each pitch activates the corresponding energy center, or chakra, and helps to open the energy center, promoting a healthy flow of energy. Each chakra represents a different gland in the endocrine system, and a different part of the physiological system (e.g., reproductive, digestive, circulatory, etc.) Studies have proven that sound vibration affects the body at the cellular level, and that it can alter brain waves.

Possible benefits for the recipient are:

· Balancing of the energy centers, or chakras, of the body

· Improved sleep patterns

· Decrease in heart rate

· Decrease in blood pressure

· Physical and mental relaxation

· Pain reduction

· Decreased fatigue

· Emotional release

· Increased awareness of emotions

· Clarity of thought

· Reduction of anxiety & stress

· Activation of the parasympathetic nervous system (rest-digest mode vs. fight-or-flight mode)

· Improved mood

Sound Baths last between 30-60 minutes, and usually include a guided meditation at the beginning to help participants calm and align the mind, body, and spirit. Participants lie or sit comfortably. We have some blankets, yoga mats, eye masks, and a few comfortable chairs to offer for use. Feel free to bring any pillows or other items that will allow you to feel comfortable. Sound Baths are conducted by Maura Leonard, Children’s Minister & Reiki Master, and Sarah Hernandez, Director of Music & Reiki Practitioner.
